Fitness Friends are here to help you feel comfortable and confident in Rec Sports spaces and programs. Whether you're new to gym facilities, including the Dixon Recreation Center, or just looking for a workout buddy, Fitness Friends offer a friendly, low-pressure way to get started.
Meet with a Fitness Friend up to three times to explore facilities, try new activities and learn about fitness and wellness opportunities.

- Fitness Friends are here to walk alongside you, not to coach or train. They’re fellow students who can help you feel more at ease in Rec Sports spaces.
Explore Rec Sports Spaces
- Get familiar with Dixon Recreation Center, including the weight rooms, cardio areas, courts, pools and tracks.
Try Activities Together
Choose a workout or activity you’re curious about, and a Fitness Friend will join you. You can meet for:
- Weightlifting
- Cardio (treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike)
- Court sports (basketball, badminton, pickleball, racquetball)
- Walking or jogging (indoor or outdoor track)
- Swimming (laps or deep-water exercise)
