Adventure Trips
Adventure Trips with the ALI are the perfect way to get out there and enjoy all that Oregon has to offer. From hiking to camping to cross-country skiing and more, we have trips to help you adventure year round.
Each trip is led by ALI student employees and transportation is provided. All skill levels are encouraged to join and no previous experience is required!
Climbing Events
Affinity Climb Nights
Affinity Climb Nights are a welcoming and supportive space for folks who may feel intimidated by climbing. They usually occur each Friday of the academic year and focus on building community while allowing people to learn how to climb. Events in this series include:
- BIPOC Climb Night (Black, Indigenous and People of Color)
- Queer Climb Nights
- Women, Trans, Non-Binary Climb Night
No previous experience required. All are welcome! Free for students and Rec Sports members. $10 for community members.

Vert Fest
Vert Fest is part of the Northwest Collegiate Climbing Circuit (NC3) and brings in climbers from all over the northwest. Try new routes, test your skills or spectate! You do not need to be part of a climbing team to register. The next Vert Fest dates will be announced in Fall 2024.
Custom Programs
Take your education out of the classroom. We use adventure and challenge catalysts to teach skills that have a real-world application. Adventure activities promote learning in areas of leadership, planning, communication, problem-solving and teamwork. Our staff can help you plan a practical experience to complete a course of study, to pursue group goals or to just have fun.

Adventure Living Learning Community
Whether you are new to outdoor adventures or you’re developing skills in any number of outdoor pursuits, this learning community will stimulate and challenge you. In this community, students develop lifelong leadership qualities in combination with environmental ethics and outdoor skills.
