The RecSports Climbing Centers offer something fun for all levels of experience and are open to the general public. For facility rentals see RecSports rentals and reservations or contact Emily Abrams ALI Operations Coordinator. 

There are two climbing walls managed through RecSports. One is located inside the East Entry of Dixon Recreation Center. The other climbing wall is located inside McAlexander Fieldhouse.

EQUIPMENT

All necessary equipment is provided for free check out to participants, including harness, ropes, belay devices and carabiners. We offer climbing shoe rentals.

We also sell chalk balls at the Adventure Leadership Institute Desk.

Open Bouldering

Bouldering is available in the Climbing Center whenever the building is open and there are not scheduled programs. Find the facility schedule for McAlexander Climbing Center and Dixon Climbing Center through our WebTrac database by signing in as yourself or a guest and then clicking on "facility calendar".  

To Boulder, participants need a Bouldering Waiver (pdf) on file.

Lead Climbing Times

Climbers who have passed the Lead Climbing Certification class are allowed to lead at the supervisor’s discretion whenever the gym is open. Prerequisites: Gym lead climb certified. Lead Climbing Waiver (pdf)

 

Term Climbing Pass Membership

RecSports offers term climbing passes for sale to the general public. Please enquire at Dixon East Entry Desk.

Vertical Festival

Corvallis’ only indoor climbing competition!

Vert Fest occurs every third weekend in February. The event is loaded with a variety of options for every climbing enthusiast.  There will be industry booths/demos, clinics, and a bouldering competition.
