Par 3 Golf Rules

I. Governing Rules

The rules of the United States Golf Association and Golf City will apply in all cases except where a special Oregon State University Intramurals rule applies.

II. Eligibility

All participants must be either students registered at Oregon State University or Faculty/Staff/Affiliate with a Recreational Sports Membership. For more information on eligibility, consult the Intramurals Handbook.

III. Format

  • Singles, stroke play format will be used.
  • There will be men’s and women’s divisions.
  • The tournament will be played even in the event of rain.
  • Players must tee off before 4:00 p.m. on the day of the tournament for their round to count.
  • The player or players posting the best score in relation to par will be declared the winner(s).

IV. Other Rules

  • All tee shots must be taken off the mats provided by the golf course.
  • Play ready golf.
  • Keep pace with the group in front of you.
  • Limit the number of practice swings.

V. Conduct

The Intramurals program promotes positive sportsmanship at all contests and activities. Unsportsmanlike conduct includes actions that are unbecoming to an ethical, fair, and honorable individual. It consists of acts of deceit, disrespect, or vulgarity and includes taunting.

VI. Ejections

Any player ejected from an event will be immediately suspended from participating in all Intramurals activities. The ejected player must then make an appointment with the Coordinator of Intramurals and Sports Coordinator to determine the length of suspension and any other sanctions. The following actions can result in ejections from Intramurals:

  • Improper language
  • Unsporting conduct
